Brian Do

Brian Do is an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical, Industrial, and Manufacturing Engineering Department and a member of the Collaborative Robotics and Intelligent Systems Institute. He leads the Do Robotics Lab, which explores the design, modeling, and control of innovative robotic systems. Before joining Oregon State, he was a postdoctoral researcher in Mechanical Engineering at Yale University working with Prof. Rebecca Kramer-Bottiglio. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University with Prof. Allison Okamura in 2023 and his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2017. He was named a Trailblazer in Engineering Fellow in 2023 and a Robotics: Science and Systems Pioneer in 2022. Outside of research, Prof. Do is passionate about outreach and broadening participation and engagement in STEM.

Grace Shirota

Grace Shirota is a PhD student in the Robotics program at Oregon State University. She received her BS in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University in 2024. Her research interests include the design and fabrication of novel soft robots.

Nathan Jones

Nathan Jones is a PhD student in the Robotics program at Oregon State University. He received his BS in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Florida in 2023 after which he worked as a lab technician at the University of Idaho. His research interests include growing robots.
Liv Dawes

Leah Hanen

Leah Hanen is an MS student in the Robotics program at Oregon State University. She received her BS in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University in 2020. She then attended the Aerospace Engineering Sciences MS program at CU Boulder before returning to Oregon State. Her research interests include soft robots for planetary exploration.

Tanner Wells

He received his BS in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Mechatronics from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2024. His research interests include learning-based controls for soft robots and human-centered robot design.

Vincent Villanueva

Vincent Villanueva is an MS student at Oregon State University. He received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University with a Minor in Naval Sciences in 2024 as well as a Post-Bacc in Asian Languages and Culture in 2024. His research interests include mechatronic design and the integration of rigid and soft robots.
